Russian Rotary Bb Trumpet w/Protec wheeled case *used*

This 1984 Soviet trumpet was made at the Chernihiv Musical Instrument Factory, located in Chernihiv, Ukraine.  This factory’s brass division supplied thousands of standard-issue student and intermediate military band rotary trumpets across the Eastern Bloc.

Unlike the more common Top Action Rotary Valve (TARV) trumpets made by the Soviets during the Cold War era, this trumpet is a Side Action Rotary Valve (SARV)–the traditional layout used in Germany and Austria.  Traditional SARV setups from the Soviet era generally are much more reliable than their TARV counterparts.  Because this trumpet is built like a classic German rotary horn, it has a warmer, broader sound profile than a standard jazz trumpet.

This used trumpet comes with a Protec trumpet and flugelhorn/auxiliary case with wheels.  It does not have a mouthpiece.  It has been kept in good condition–please refer to the pictures to get an idea of the condition.
